Alex V Martinez Mazzini

Funeral service for Alex V. Martinez, 59, of Lufkin, will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, April 7, 2025 at Gipson Funeral Home with Keith McClelland and Dwayne McClelland officiating. Mr. Martinez will be laid to rest at Garden of Memories Memorial Park.

Alex was born November 8, 1965 in Huanuco, Peru, son of Hermelinda (Morales) and the late, Viviano Martinez. He passed away on Wednesday, April 2, 2025 at the Hospice in the Pines.

Mr. Martinez was a loving son, husband, father, and grandfather. He always made sure his family came first and loved to make everyone smile. Alex was a hardworking and family-oriented man. His proudest moments in life were when his children were born. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and loved making his family laugh by always dancing and making jokes. He worked for Clayton Homes of Lufkin as a service technician and on his spare time he worked on his home.

Survivors include his wife, Rocio Martinez; children, Christian Martinez and wife, Isabel, Alexis Martinez, and Shirley Priscilla Martinez Contreras; grandchildren, Addison Martinez, Audrey Martinez, Alexia Martinez, Mariano Josue Castañeda Martinez, and Luciana Micaela Castañeda Martinez; siblings, Ronald Martinez, Hugo Martinez, Yanet Moscoso, Romina Martinez, Maritza Moscoso, Guina Moscoso; and numerous other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his father.

Pallbearers will be Christian Martinez, Hugo Martinez, Luis Pizarro, Alexis Martinez, Ronald Martinez, and Alexandra Martinez.

The family will receive friends from noon to 2:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
