Annie Nell Dykes Loftin

Annie Nell Loftin, 74, of Diboll, was born January 12, 1936 in Diboll, Texas, the daughter of the late Alberta (James) and Russell L. Dykes. She passed away Tuesday, April 27, 2010 in a local hospital.

Mrs. Loftin was a homemaker, and a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Her grandchildren were the highlight of her life. She was very close to her sisters and loved being with her family. She enjoyed Bingo and ice cream. Mrs. Loftin was a member of Lakeview Baptist Church.

Survivors include her son, Joe Loftin, Jr. of Diboll; daughters and sons-in-law, Carla and Fidel Guillen of Diboll and Gwen and Elether Shepherd of Huntsville; brother, R. L. Dykes of Houston; sisters, Lola Carter of Lufkin, Betty Capps of Diboll and Jessie Howell of Lufkin; 15 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other family members and friends.

Mrs. Loftin was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Loftin, Sr.; and son, Jerry Wayne Loftin.

Pallbearers will be Lance Loftin, C. W. Loftin, Earl Loftin, Wayne Ellis, Trey Shepherd, Marc Russell and Felix Guillen.

Services for Mrs. Loftin will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, April 30, 2010 in the Gipson Funeral Home Chapel, with Bro. Larry Trest officiating. Interment will follow in the Pollok Cemetery.

Friends are invited to visit with the family from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday evening at Gipson Funeral Home.
