Bobby Dean Smith, Sr., 62, of San Augustine, was born January 20, 1949 in Angelina County, Texas, the son of the late Jessie (Renfro) and Barney Smith. He passed away Friday, April 22, 2011 at his residence.
Mr. Smith was a logger and truck driver for more than 40 years. He was a devoted father and grandfather.
Survivors include his sons and daughters-in-law, Greg and Kim Thomas, Bobby Jr. and Kim Smith and Wayne and Kim Smith; daughter and son-in-law, Tina and Jamey Conner; grandchildren, Tessa, Kresta, Justin, Kaylin and Billy Smith, Dylan and Kortnie Conner and Destiny Thomas; brother and sister-in-law, Larry and Tammy Smith; sister and brother-in-law, Betty Krell and Robert McCroskey; and a number of nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.
Honorary pallbearers will be Edward Rice, Donald Renfro, Delbert Renfro and Nathan Renfro.
Graveside services for Mr. Smith will be held at 4:00 p.m. Saturday, April 23, 2011 in the Whitehouse Cemetery with Bro. Elton Musick officiating.
The family will receive friends from 12:00 noon until 2:00 p.m. Saturday at Gipson Funeral Home.
