

Funeral service for Charlie Mae Herrington, 97, of Huntington, will be held at 10:00 a.m. at Greater Love Tabernacle on Sunday, February 8, 2026 with Rev. Ronnie Frankens, Gentry Wilkerson, and Carson Frankens officiating. Interment will follow at Herrington Cemetery.
Mrs. Herrington was born July 21, 1928 in Little Hope, daughter of the late Pearl (Basey) and Jesse Thomas Conner. She passed away Friday, February 6, 2026 in her residence.
Charlie found great joy in tending her flower beds and took pride in her gardening. She was devoted to her church and attended faithfully until just a few weeks before her passing. Above all, she loved her children and grandchildren dearly. She also enjoyed traveling and treasured memories from a trip to Alaska, where she delighted in the beauty of the outdoors.
Survivors include daughters, Linda Collins of Huntington, Terrye Burrous and Robert of Huntington; daughter-in-law, Nadine Herrington of Tennessee; grandchildren, Mike Burrous and Kathy, Clint Burrous and Stacy, Wendell Burrous and Terri, Shanna Putnam and Charles, Erica Jacobs and Dan, Melissa Collins, Jon Crain, and Timmy Johnson and Jennifer; 15 great-grandchildren; 9 great-great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-great-grandchild; and numerous other relatives.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Willie Loyce Herrington (1994); son, James Edward Herrington; grandchildren, Butch Collins, Sharla Collins; son-in-law Robert D. Collins, and siblings.
Pallbearers will be Cye Wilson, Mike Burrous, Jared Bryan, Wendell Burrous, Dylan Collins, and Tristen Woods.
Honorary pallbearers will be Clint Burrous, Charles Putnam, Robert Noel, and Caden Burrous.
The family has asked that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Mission at Greater Love Tabernacle, 5319 FM 326, Lufkin, TX 75901.
Family will receive friends prior to service at Greater Love Tabernacle.
