

Mrs. Rogers was born January 25, 1915 in Blue Mountain, Arkansas, the daughter of the late Maudie Mae (Land) and W.A. Blaylock. She passed away Monday, March 10, 2014 in Lufkin.
Mrs. Rogers was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great grandmother. She married James H. Rogers in 1930 and became a homemaker and took care of her family. She enjoyed fishing and hunting. She always had a kind word and a smile for everyone. Mrs. Rogers was always well-coiffured. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and former member of Immanuel Baptist Church in Newport, Arkansas.
Survivors include her daughter, Pauline Ford of Lufkin; son and daughter-in-law, Ray and Rosemary Rogers of Houston; son-in-law Charles D. Ford of Huntsville; grandchildren, Debby Starr, Jimmy Ford and wife Kelley, Robin Rogers, Jeanne Shuell and Harold Jordon; great-grandchildren, Christopher Shuell, Julianne Ford, and Parker Ford; great-great grandchildren, Hayden Shuell and Kaizr Shuell; her dog Roxie; and numerous other family members.
Mrs. Rogers was preceded in death by her husband, James H. Rogers, on June 12, 1999; her son, James Blaylock Rogers; her parents and her grandson-in-law, Bob Starr.
Mrs. Rogers' family wishes to express special thanks to the staff of Hospice in the Pines for their loving care.
Services have been placed in the trust of Gipson Funeral Home.
