

Funeral service for Doris Ann Flowers Hammack, 76, of Lufkin, will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, March 9, 2026 at Gipson Funeral Home with Bro. Brandon Brashear officiating. Interment will follow at Narroway Cemetery.
Mrs. Hammack was born on December 13, 1949 in Jasper, TX, daughter of the late Edna Earl (Freeman) and Thomas Lester Flowers. She passed away Tuesday, March 3, 2026 in a hospital.
Doris enjoyed crocheting and reading, and she loved attending church. She especially enjoyed going out to eat with her family, particularly at Pelican Pointe. Doris deeply loved her family and her Sunday school church family at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church.
Survivors include children, Jeffery Thomas Hammack of Lufkin, Tonya Michelle Hammack of Lufkin, Tameshia and Paul Deaton of Lufkin, James Harvey Hammack III and Jennifer of Lufkin, and Jefferey Thomas Hammack Jr. and Kayla; 12 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; siblings, Jimmy Flowers and Mae, Joe and Connie Flowers, and Christene Lowry; and numerous other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, James Harvey “Potsy” Hammack; sister, Carolyn Joyce Burrous; and great-grandson, Josuah Clay Collier Jr.
Pallbearers will be Noe Rivas, Gonzalo Costilla II, John Lester IIII, Stephen Emerson, Blake Elliot, and Kevin Wallace.
Honorary pallbearers will be Ottis Deaton and John Laws.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Sunday evening at the funeral home.
