

Douglas R. Colston, 80, of Houston, was born March 4, 1932 in Kingsville, Texas, the son of the late Maud (Warner) and Roy Fulton Colston, Sr. He passed away Monday, May 21, 2012 in a Houston nursing facility.
Mr. Colston was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He was retired from Tenneco Oil and Gas as a computer analyst. He enjoyed fishing and playing the guitar. He was a member of Tenneco Retirement Club and was a member of the Methodist faith. Mr. Colston served his country inh the United States Navy.
Survivors include his wife, Joan Colston of Houston; daughter and son-in-law, Kelley Yvonne and Jeff Durham of College Station; son, Michael Benton Colston of Houston; grandchildren, Christopher Wayne Durham and wife Kelley of Houston and Erin Nicole Durham of Denton; sister, Patricia Lee Aughbaugh of The Woodlands; brother-in-law, Charles Elmo Bowman of Texas City, nephews, Claud Lee Colston, Robert Charles Bowman, M.D. and wife JoAnn Linn Bowman, William Ashbaugh, Jr. and wife Susie, David Ashbaugh and Steven Ashbaugh; niece-in-law, Pam Bowman; and half-brother, Dee Colston.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Colston was preceded in death by his brother, Roy Fulton Colston, Jr.; sister, Arden Muriel Bowman; nephew, William Kyle Bowman; and brother-in-law, William Ashbaugh, Sr.
The family has requested instead of flowers that donations be made in Mr. Colston's name to your favorite charity. The fund supports children's and youth activities. His children were very involved at Glenbrook when they were growing up.
Services for Mr. Colston will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, May 24, 2012 in the Elwyn M. Gipson Memorial Chapel in the Garden of Memories Memorial Park, with Reverend Jose (Joe) Cortinas officiating. Interment will follow in the Garden of Memories Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until service time on Thursday at the Elwyn M. Gipson Memorial Chapel.
