Frances Lee (Day) Kauffman

Funeral Services for Mrs. Frances Lee Kauffman will be held on Wednesday, December 9, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. at Garden of Memories Memorial Park, 5205 South First Street, Lufkin, Texas in the Elwyn M. Gipson Chapel. Reverend Clarence Day will officiate. Interment will follow the services in the Garden of Memories.

Frances Kauffman, 82, of Galveston, was born May 7, 1933 in Porter, Texas. She passed away on Thursday, December 4, 2015 at her home in Galveston, Texas. She was the daughter of Clarence and Hettie (Yount) Day.

Survivors include her sons, Kenneth Kauffman and daughter-in-law, Sarah and Linford O. Kauffman, Jr. of Bay City; daughter, Debra Kauffman of San Antonio; grandchildren, Lindsay Deshotels and husband Jesse, Brian Kauffman, Scott Kauffman, Louie Trevino, Dominique Hayes, Denise Trevino and Bazill Santos; and great grandchildren. She was also survived by her brothers, Clarence Day and wife Dorothy of Beaumont and Gary Day and wife Ruth of Lufkin; sister, Estelle Collins of Gary; sisters-in-law, Sharon Day of Lufkin and Marie Boyer of Hagerstown, Maryland; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Linford O. Kauffman; daughter, Brenda Kauffman; brother, David Day; sister, Clara Lois Hancock; and brother-in-law, Ellis H. Kauffman..

Frances was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother…her family was her life. The family had moved to Galveston in 1966 following Mr. Kauffman’s banking career where he ultimately retired as Executive Vice President and Trust Officer of the Frost Bank. Loving her life as a homemaker and family caretaker, Frances also enjoyed gardening. She was a member of the Lutheran Church.

The family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to Ada Alexander and Clarissa Rideaux for the special love and care given to their mother.

The family will receive all friends and family for visitation and refreshments back in the Chapel following the interment.
