Funeral service for Geraldine May Young, 87, of Lufkin, will be held at 2 PM on Friday, October 27, 2023 at Gipson Funeral Home with Father Denzil Vithanage and Rev. Frank Young officiating. Interment will follow at Sims Rocky Hill Cemetery.
Mrs. Young was born October 11, 1936, daughter of the late Charlotte (Ludwig) and Raymond Harrington. She passed away Monday, October 23, 2023 at Larkspur Health and Rehab.
Geraldine was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She enjoyed cooking and spending time with her grandchildren and family. She loved the Dallas Cowboys and Houston Astros. After spending many years at the Lufkin State Supported Living Center, she retired. She was a member of the Catholic faith.
Survivors include daughter, Mary Stripling and Burt of Huntington, TX; sons, Thomas Lodini and Rosel of Pennsylvania, John Lodini and Margaret of Lufkin, Charles Young and Mary of Huntington, Donald Young and Jill of Huntington, Frank Young and Donna of Mauriceville, David Young and Jeannine of Virginia, and Ray Young of Pollok; grandchildren, Wendy, Caroline, Danny, Angel, Tommy, April, Katlyn, Hunter, Joey, Alicia, Markos, Sammy, Amanda, Brandi, John, Ryan, Morgan, Cason, Jordan, Tiffany, Luke, Tracer, Sarah, David, Christian, Connor, and Cash; numerous great-grandchildren; brother, Ray Harrington of South Carolina; sister, Marie Gokey of New York; and son-in-law, Walter Keesler of New York.
She is preceded in death by parents; husband, Franklin Young; daughter, Toni Keesler; and brother, John Harrington.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday evening at the funeral home.
