

Jack Williams, 87, of Diboll, was born January 30, 1925 in Cross Plains, Texas, the son of the late Olive (McGowan) and Jessie Benjamin Williams. He passed away Friday, February 24, 2012 in a Jasper nursing facility.
Mr. Williams was retired from Local 450 in Houston as a heavy equipment operator. He owned Jack's Produce in Diboll for 24 years. He enjoyed selling produce and gardening after his retirement. He was a 1941 graduate of Lufkin High School, and proudly served his country in the United States Navy during World War II. Mr. Williams was a member of Galena Park Masonic Lodge #1290, A.F. & A.M.
Survivors include his granddaughters, Lesli Corson Johnson of Lufkin and Jamie Leigh Corson Eddie and husband Chris of Washington, D.C.; great-grandsons, Jack Joseph Ryder Johnson and Xavier Greyson Gage Landers, and soon to arrive, Grant Williams Eddie; and a number of other family members and friends.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Williams was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Williams; daughter, Nancy Williams; sister, Billie Patterson; and brother, James Russell Williams.
Pallbearers will be Ricky White, Brian Harper, Chris Eddie, Blake Grider and Hunter Johnson.
Services for Mr. Williams will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, March 1, 2012 in the Gipson Funeral Home Chapel, with Reverend Horace Fletcher officiating. Interment will follow in the Garden of Memories Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday evening at Gipson Funeral Home.
