Jessie Lee Martines

Services for Jessie Barringer Martines, 83, of Lufkin, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, March 11, 2024 in the Gipson Funeral Home Chapel, with Deacon Gary Trevino officiating. Interment will follow in the Moral Cemetery in Nacogdoches.

Mrs. Martines was born August 17, 1940 in Moscow, Texas, the daughter of the late Bernice (Barnes) and Taft Barringer. She passed away Thursday, March 7, 2024 at her residence.

Mrs. Martines was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She enjoyed crafts and crocheting. She was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church.

Survivors include her daughter, Theresa Shadowens of Lufkin; sons and daughters-in-law, Mike and Linda Martines and Greg and Donna Martines, all of Lufkin; daughter and son-in-law, Angela and Brad Palmore; grandchildren, Matt Martines, Brooke York, Chanay Hoover and Katie Martines; great-grandchildren, Kade Hoover, Zoey Hoover, Scarlett Doinoff, Lexi Martines, Harper Martines and Cayde Vaughn; brother, Danny Barringer; and sisters, Sarah Morris, Dixie Barringer and Virginia Morrison.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Martines was preceded in death by her husband, Francis E. Martines in 1993; and 4 brothers.

The family will receive friends from 12:30 p.m. to service time Monday afternoon at the funeral home.
