Jo lived a life marked by creativity, curiosity, and deep love for her family. She had a special appreciation for music and could often be found enjoying her favorite songs on a jukebox or listening to treasured records. She loved getting lost in a good book and expressed herself beautifully through painting, art, gardening, and countless hobbies and crafts. Jo was always eager to learn something new, constantly exploring new interests and creative outlets.
Above all, she cherished being a grandmother. Her granddaughter lovingly called her “Jo Jo,” a name that perfectly captured the sweetness of their bond. Spending time with her family, especially her granddaughter, brought her the greatest joy.
She is survived by her husband of 41 years, Keith Baird; her daughters, Tiffany Parker; Selena Buster and husband Michael Toole; and Jessica Baird and fiancé Toby Monrrial; and her beloved granddaughter, Scarlett. She is also survived by her siblings, Jim Hill and wife Tammie; Shannon Bradford and husband Jim; Anna Fox and husband Peter; Crystal Magouirk; and Burt McShan and wife Joyce; her step-father, Sonny Wills and wife Debra; along with numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends who will dearly miss her.
Jo was preceded in death by her parents, Carol Ann and James Richard Hill, and her grandmother, Ona Hill and husband Bryan.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, February 17, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at Gipson Funeral Home in Lufkin. A Celebration of Jo’s Life will follow at 2:00 p.m. Jo will be cremated following the services in accordance with her wishes.
