

Services for Joe Kelsey, 97, of Crockett, will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, November 3, 2012, in the Gipson Funeral Home Chapel, with Bro. Tony Shaw officiating. Interment will follow in the Antioch Cemetery in Ratcliff.
Mr. Kelsey was born August 12, 1915 in Ratcliff, Houston County, Texas, the son of the late Cellie (Minton) and Sig Kelsey. He passed away on Wednesday, October 31, 2012 at the Community Care Center in Crockett.
Mr. Kelsey resided in Port Acres, Texas for many years with his wife, Ruby Blanton Kelsey. He was a carpenter by trade and enjoyed fishing and hunting. Joe was a member of St. Johns United Methodist Church in Port Acres. He later moved to Kennard and married Lillian Parish. He later moved into the Community Care Center.
Survivors include one daughter, Linda Clifton of Linden, Texas; grandson, Phillip Taylor of Linden, Texas; granddaughter, Kristi Grogan of Texarkana, Arkansas; great-granddaughter, Hailey Grogan; great-grandson, Jace Grogan of Fouke, Arkansas; brother and sister-in-law, Edmon and Jewel Kelsey of Pollok; sisters, Lucille Gates and Edna Bridges, both of Houston, and many nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.
In addition to his parents, Joe was preceded in death by his wife, Ruby Blanton Kelsey; second wife, Lillian Parish Kelsey; stepfather, David Tullos; brother, Howard; brother and sister-in-law, Aaron and Louise Kelsey; sister and brother-in-law, Inez and Lonnie Carpenter; and brothers-in-law, Jack Bridges and Claborn Gates.
Pallbearers will be Phillip Taylor, Glenn Kelsey, Gary Gates, Lloyd Kelsey, Eddie Bridges and Larry Bridges.
Honorary pallbearers will be James Kelsey, Reagan Kelsey and David Kelsey.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday evening at Gipson Funeral Home.
