Michael LaNeal Thompson

Michael was born May 22, 1969 in Angelina County, Texas, and died Sunday, December 22, 2013.

Michael was an automotive mechanic. He attended school at Wells ISD. After finishing school, he built antique cars and hot rods. He loved to race them and has been mechanical all his life. He was a loving husband, father, son and brother. He was a fun-loving person and loved to pull pranks on people. He loved his family, friends, horse and dog, and did not like the dark at all. He was a member of AQHA and Long Motor Company.

Survivors include his wife, Catherine Thompson of Pollok; children, Autumn Lynn Thompson of Pollok, Michael Dakota Thompson, Jr. of Pollok, Catherine Elizabeth Dailey of Wells and Hunter Charles Dailey of Pollok; father, Earl L. Thompson, Sr.; brother, Earl Thompson, Jr. of Pollok; sisters, Barbara Sides of Pollok, Dianne Thompson and husband Skip Goodwin of Pollok, Shelia Hannah and husband Jeff of Trevat and Karen Slomba and husband Lee of Zavalla; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, extended family, friends and customers.

Michael was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Jane (Bushee) Thompson; and grandparents, Earl and Doffie Thompson.

Pallbearers will be Brian Smith, Michael Thompson, Jr., Shaye Stanford, Steven Monday, Carl Truitt, Justin Goodwin, Donald Coulter, and Jeremy Allen.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday evening at Gipson Funeral Home.
