

Services for Mildred (Mama-Mil) Glover, 91, of Wells, will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 24, 2015 at Falvey Memorial United Methodist Church in Wells, with Reverend David Goodwin officiating. Interment will follow in the Mount Hope Cemetery.
Mrs. Glover was born February 2, 1924, in Cherokee County, Texas, the daughter of the late Maudell (Bailey) and William Earnest McCarty. She passed away Wednesday, October 21, 2015 at her residence.
Mrs. Glover lived in Wells her entire life. She was retired from Wells ISD after 21 years of employment. She was a member of Falvey Memorial United Methodist Church of Wells for over 57 years. She was a leader of the MYF at Falvey and a member of the Ladies Group and Quilters’ Group. She was always there to support her children and grandchildren in all of their activities as long as her health allowed. She loved cooking, gardening, and spending time with her family.
Those left to cherish her memory are her son, Travis Glover of Wells; daughters and sons-in-law, Barbara and C. W. Williams of Wells and Debbie and Gary Johnson of Wells; grandchildren, Michelle Williams, Carty and Dee Williams, Mandy Scroggins, Heather and Jason Carpenter, Trae and Lindsey Glover, Slade and Katy Johnson, all of Wells, and Tiffany and James Blackwood of Lufkin; great-grandchildren, Alexa and Jackson Scroggins, Ashlea and Ashbea Jones, Elly and Jake Blackwood, Lilly Rose and Deuce Williams, Brylee and Shanna Glover, and Jaycee Carpenter; brother and sister-in-law, Troy and Bonnie McCarty of Lufkin; sisters-in-law, Ella Craven of Marshall and Katherine Allen of Lufkin; special family friend, Joe Redd of Wells; and a number of nieces, nephews, and other family members.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Glover was preceded in death by her husband, O. D. Glover; daughter, Sara Glover; daughter-in-law, Beatrice (Bea) Glover; sisters, Loretta Staton, Faye Hannah and Dorskie Flowers; and brothers, Luke McCarty and James Earnest McCarty.
Pallbearers will be Carty Williams, Trae Glover, Slade Johnson, Jackson Scroggins, James Blackwood, Jason Carpenter, and Dan Testyon.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday evening at the funeral home.
