Nelda was preceded in death by her parents, her beloved husband, Horace Elmer "Jimmy" Hancock, and her brother, Jess Childress. She is survived by her son, Mack Hayes, and his wife, Sylvia; her grandson, Conner Flynt, and his wife, Johanna.
A devoted Baptist, Nelda's wishes were to forgo traditional services. She will be cremated and laid to rest alongside Jimmy in Huntington Cemetery.
Her warmth and spirit will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
