Aileen Weber Corbett of Lynn passed away on Wednesday, April 6, 2022 at the age of 79. She was the daughter of the late William F. and Aileen Weber of Lynn. She was a lifelong resident of Lynn, graduate of St. Chretienne Academy in Salem, and Lynn Hospital School of Nursing, and later went on to raise her family in Lynn.
Aileen began her RN nursing career at Lynn Hospital Emergency Room (which she loved). After spending many years at home raising her children, she went back to working as a nurse and then advanced to the Director of Nursing for local Nursing Homes in Lynn and Nahant. From there, she transitioned to working with children with complex medical and developmental needs in their homes, providing full time one on one care.
Later on, Aileen worked in day programs and school settings for children and young adults with a myriad of medical and developmental needs. It is in this setting that she shined so brightly with not only her co-workers, but with the individuals and families that she cared for.
In addition to her nursing work, she loved and was well known for her talent with knitting and crocheting. She was always gifting her extended family, friends and charities pieces of her lovely handiwork. She could be seen and sought out at many local craft fairs for her exquisitely crafted handmade items alongside her good friend and partner in crime, Candy Cioffi.
She cherished her time spent with family and friends, especially the big family get-togethers with all her children and grandchildren, brothers and sisters, nieces and nephews, and their children present. She had a great love for all her grandchildren each of whom knows that they were her “favorite”. Aileen was most happy when she was watching her Red Sox or equally as enthralling, her grandchildren's sports and productions. Aileen loved babies. There was no greater love than her cuddling one of her baby grandchildren. All that said, everyone that knew her referred to her as “kind and loving”.
The family would like to extend a deep sense of gratitude to her amazing nurses and therapists, but especially to Dr. Walter Nalesnik and her home care provider Claudia Lopez who treated her like a princess and whom she deeply cherished.
Aileen is survived by her devoted children, William P. Corbett Jr, of Lynn, Karen Livernois and husband Paul of Londonderry, NH, Brian Corbett of Lynn, Maureen Mitchell of Lynn, with whom Aileen resided, and son in law Sean Mitchell of Wakefield. Her cherished grandchildren, Caroline, Carter, and Chloe Corbett; Christopher, Nathaniel, and Sarah Livernois; and Taidhgin, Declan Mitchell. Her sister Cathy Weber Bartok of Kennebunk, ME, and grand furbabies Seamus and Finnegan (despite Seamus stealing her food.)
In addition to her parents, Aileen is predeceased by her granddaughter Yvette Livernois, and her brothers Bill Weber, and Paul Weber.
Family and friends are invited to attend Aileen’s visitation on Sunday, April 10, 2022 from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Cuffe-McGinn Funeral Home, 157 Maple Street, Lynn. Her Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, April 11, 2022, at 10:00 AM at Our Lady of Assumption Church, 17 Grove Street, Lynnfield. Despite Aileen’s love for flowers, especially tulips, in lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made in her memory to the Mesothelioma Applied Research Foundation, www.curemeso.org.
