

DANVERS, MA - Angelina Chipouras, 89, died on Monday at Windsor Place of Wilmington. She was the wife of the late Peter A. Chipouras. Angie and Peter were married for 64 years prior to his passing. Following their retirement, Mr. and Mrs. Chipouras moved to Palm Harbor, Florida and summered in Danvers. Living in Florida and summering in New England allowed them to enjoy their favorite pastime, playing golf together.
Born in Haverhill, Angie was a daughter of the late Anastes and Elaine (Mirmigelis) Salmas.
Mrs. Chipouras earned an Associate’s Degree in Bookkeeping from Bentley University in Waltham.
Angie was an avid crafter and enjoyed teaching others the art of rug braiding, holding classes in her home. She was a 25 year member of the Arts and Crafts Society of Wakefield and the leader of Wakefield girls 4-H Sewing Club. She was also a lover of numbers and puzzles.
Left to cherish her memory are her daughter and son-in-law, Elaine and Claude Grosso of Reading; her son and daughter-in-law, Arthur and Tina Chipouras of Webster, NY; Grandchildren Damon and Sharon Grosso; Brian Chipouras and his wife Paige; Andrew Chipouras, his wife Molly, and their son, Nathan Chipouras. She is also survived by two sisters Theodora “Dora” Karabetsos and Despina “Dee” Savides both of Haverhill.
In addition to her beloved husband Peter, she was preceded in death by her sisters Mary Rallis and Thelma Christopher and her brother James “Jimmy” Salmas.
Angie’s funeral service will be held on Monday 9:00am in the Cuffe McGinn Funeral Home, 157 Maple St., Lynn, MA followed by a Funeral Service at 10:00am in St. George Greek Orthodox Church, 54 South Common Street, Lynn, MA. Relatives and friends are invited and may call Sunday from 4-7pm. Burial will be in the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne, MA.
