

Charles was born in Cambridge to the late Joseph A. and Elizabeth (Petrie) Black. He proudly defended our freedom in the United States Army during WWII.
After the war, Charles made a career as a bus driver for the MBTA. He enjoyed traveling and spending time with his family. Later in life, Charles fell in love with flying kites, especially at Nahant Beach.
Charles is survived by his children; Susan Quigley and her husband Paul of Lynn and Charles A. Black, Jr., and his late wife Patty of Ashburnham. He was the loving Grandfather of Lisa Allen and Amy Black and Great Grandfather of Connor Allen.
A Funeral Service will be held Monday at 11:00AM at the CUFFE-McGINN FUNERAL HOME 157 Maple St., Lynn. Visitation prior to the service beginning at 9AM. Interment at Pine Grove Cemetery, Lynn. Relatives and friends invited. In lieu of flowers, gifts in his memory may be sent to The Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758517, Topeka, Kansas 66675.
