

Mrs. Claire (Carmody) Curry, 89, of Lynn passed away on Wednesday, April 24, 2019 in the Kaplan Family Hospice House with her loving family at her side. She is the wife of the late John H. “Jack” Curry with whom she shared 67 years of marriage.
Claire was born August 31, 1929 in Peabody. She is the daughter of the late John F. and Mary E. (Cremin) Carmody. She was a graduate of St. Patricks’ Grammar School and Classical High School Class of 1947.
Claire worked for the City of Lynn as a Bookkeeper in the Comptroller’s Office for 20 years until her retirement.
Claire loved spending time with her family and loved living in Lynn, she was a long time communicant of St. Pius V Church where she was also a member and past officer of the Sodality. She was also a member of Division 10 Ancient Order of Hibernians, the Mass Senior Action Council.
Claire is survived by her children: Colleen Greeley and her husband, Stuart of Peabody, Marie Arrao and her husband, Anthony of Saratoga Springs, Kevin Curry and his wife, Linda of Lynn, Paul Curry and his wife, Anne Marie of Danvers, and Jay Curry and his wife, Theresa of Newburyport, her sister Rita Godbout of Lynn, her brother Joseph Carmody of Nahant, her grandchildren: Brian Greeley and his wife Laura, Cailin McDermott and her husband Michael, Kristyn Stilwell and her husband William, Kelleigh, Kevin, Benjamin and Nicholas as well as four great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband Jack, Claire is predeceased by her brothers John, Gene and Patrick Carmody, Dorothy Nicosia and Marie Burke
Claire’s visiting hours will be in the Cuffe-McGinn Funeral Home, 157 Maple St. Lynn on Friday, April 26, 2019 from 8:00-11:30 AM. Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. Pius V Church, 215 Maple St. Lynn on Friday at 12:00 noon. Burial will follow in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Lynn. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Claire’s memory may be made to St. Pius V Parish, 215 Maple St. Lynn, MA 01904.
