

Mr. Constantine "Gus" Belitsos, age 85 years, of Lynn died peacefully Wednesday at Union Hospital, surrounded by his family after a brief illness. He was the husband of Elaine I. (Papadoyianis) with whom he shared 57 years of marriage. Born in Washington, D. C. he was the son of the late Stamatios and Demetra (Lynardakis) Belitsos. He move to Lynn in 1929 and has resided here ever since. He attended Lynn schools, and graduated from L. E. H. S. , Class of 1942. He received a Bachelors in Pharmacy at Northeastern University, Class of 1952. A former POW, Mr. Belitsos served as a Corporal seeing action In the European Theater during WW II, for which service he received three Battle Stars, a Combat Infantry Badge, and a Bronze Star. He owned and operated Anthony Pharmacy in Medford for many years. He was a member of Mt. Carmel Lodge A. F. & A. M., Gus was founder and President Emeritus of the Highland Reunion Group, and Friends of High Rock. An avid golfer he was a longtime member of Gannon Golf Club. He was a volunteer reading tutor for the third and fourth grade at the Ford School. Mr. Belitsos enjoyed traveling, gardening, reading, and was a fan of the Red Sox, Celtics and Patriots. In addition to his wife he is survived by two daughters Constance D. Belitsos of Lynn, Christine M. Belitsos of Lynn, two sons Steven C. and his wife Donna Belitsos of Saugus, Ernest C. and his wife Donna Belitsos of Lynn, one brother Peter and his wife Ida Belitsos of Lynnfield, one sister Christine B. Peduto of Stoughton, three grandchildren Jason E. and Christian J. Belitsos of Lynn, Vera Kosidis of Lynn, two step grandchildren Michael and Nicholas Indrisano of Saugus, and several nieces and nephews. He was also brother of the late Georgia Simmons. Service Details: Mr. Belitsos's visiting hours will be at the Parker Funeral Home, 35 Franklin St. Lynn on Saturday from 2:00 - 8:00 PM to which relatives and friends are invited to attend. Funeral services will be private. Memorial donations may be made to a charity of your choice. Mt Carmel Lodge will hold Masonic services Saturday at 7:00 PM.
