Born in Lynn, David attended school there through the 2nd grade and Peabody public schools through high school. David excelled as a student, and enrolled at Lowell Tech in the 1960’s.
After a year at Lowell Tech, David was accepted into the General Electric Apprentice Course which he graduated in 1966. He became a highly regarded draftsman/tool designer in the GE Aircraft Engine Group and was honored with several design awards from the General Electric. David was a believer in education and pursued extension courses (after work) in science, math, and languages at Salem State University.
In young adulthood, David had many hobbies including fishing on his outboard motor boat, taking flying lessons, and gardening both flowers and vegetables which he contin-ued to do every spring into the fall.
In 1989 David met his future wife, Masha. After their marriage they settled in Peabody. They often socialized with friends and travelled together including destinations throughout Europe, Latin America, and the Caribbean. He planted many varieties of flowers, bushes and trees around their home. David loved animals and birds. He built bird houses and fed the local aviary populations including wild turkeys. He and Masha had a little dog named Molly that David was very fond of.
David’s primary interest after retirement was investing in equities. He spent much of his spare time observing stock market trends and managing his investments. He knew a lot about the market, and offered investment advice to his grandnephew Joshua.
David is survived by his wife Masha of Natick; his step son Elliot and his wife Wendy of Greenwich, Connecticut; his brother, James Marshall and his wife Brenda of Newburyport; his sister Linda Blacha and her husband Ric of Mansfield, Texas; three grandchildren, three nephews, two nieces, and nine grand-nephews and grand-nieces.
