LYNN—David A. Olsson, age 83, passed away peacefully at his home on Tuesday, April 20, 2021, surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of the late Rosemarie (Saulnier) Olsson, who passed in 2007.
Born in Lynn, MA on February 6, 1938 he was a son of the late Gunnar and Eleanor (Fitch) Olsson. David was a graduate of the Lynn Trade Vocational School, Class of 1956. He then went on to work for J&M Brown Co. for over 40 years, prior to his retirement. He was a member of the IBEW Local 103 Boston for which he just received his 62 year pin.
In his free time, David was a member of many associations, including, the Eastern Rifle and Revolver Club and the Plaistow Fish & Game Club. He also loved boating, fishing and shooting, winters spent with family and friends in Fort Myers, Florida and camping in Sandown, NH. He was a devoted parishioner of St Jeans Church in Lynn. Above all else though, David loved his family. Spending time with his children and grandchildren was the highlight of his life and the memories he made with them will carry on.
Surviving David are his children, Robin Crowley of Lynn, Theresa Peterson, wife of the late Thomas Peterson of Salem, Kristina Serino, wife of the late Anthony “Tony” Serino of Danvers and Michael Olsson and his wife Tracy of Salem; his grandchildren, Janelle, Richard, Jessica, Courtney, Joshua, David, Amy, Jared, Owen and Evan; his great-grandchildren, Destiny, Sophia and Ricky; as well as many other dear in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
David was the father of the late Richard Olsson, brother of the late Gunnar “Pete” Olsson and the late Kristina Bruhm of Swampscott.
Arrangements: Friends and family are invited to call at the Cuffe-McGinn Funeral Home, 157 Maple Street, Lynn, on Sunday, April 25th from 2 p.m. until 5 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held in the Funeral Home on Monday, April 26th at 11 a.m. Burial will follow at St. Jean Cemetery, Lynn.
