Eileen M. Keating

Eileen M. (Farrell) Keating, age 83, of Swampscott, passed away peacefully at her home, surrounded by her loving family on Monday, August, 23, 2021. She was the beloved wife of the late Harold J. Keating, Jr., with whom she shared 63 years of marriage.

Born in Lynn, MA, she was a daughter of the late Laurence P. and Margaret K. (Creevan) Farrell. Eileen attended St. Mary’s High School. In her working years, Eileen was the co-owner and operator of Keating Tree Services alongside her husband Harold.

In her free time, Eileen enjoyed cooking, and traveling with her husband. She was a volunteer for many years at Meals on Wheels and JCC Daycare. Above all else though, Eileen loved spending time with her family. Watching her children and grandchildren grow, and creating memories with them, was the light of her life.

Eileen is survived by her sons, Harold Keating and his wife Carole of Hamilton, Laurence Keating of Swampscott, Daniel Keating of Groveland, and Patrick Keating and his partner Kathryn White of Swampscott; her six grandchildren, Celina Keating, Monica Keating, Daniel Keating, Jr., Alicia Keating, Christopher Keating, Calvin Keating, and Isaiah Washington; her siblings, Janet McGovern, Larry Joe Farrell, and Sharon Flurey; as well as many other dear nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Friends and family are invited to attend Eileen’s visiting hours on Monday, August 30th at Cuffe-McGinn Funeral Home, 157 Maple Street, Lynn from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm. Her funeral will be held on Tuesday, August 31st at 10:00 am at Cuffe-McGinn Funeral Home followed by a funeral mass at 11:00 am at St. John the Evangelist Church, Swampscott.
