Erich Josef Gunderman

Erich J. Gunderman, of Lynn, MA, passed away of natural causes on July 8, 2023 at the age of 64. He was the husband of Ellen Gunderman, with whom he shared 34 years of marriage.

Erich grew up in Lynn, MA, graduated from St Mary's High School and raised his family in Lynn. He was a heavy equipment operator/working foreman for the Lynn Water and Sewer Department for over 18 years.

Erich was predeceased by his father Maurice Gunderman, his beloved mother Mary Gunderman, his brothers Gary Krallis and David Gunderman. Also his in-laws William and Margaret O'Shea, brothers-in-law John J. Werner and Herbert Hintz, and his esteemed uncle Warren Gunderman.

Erich is survived by his wife Ellen, daughter Erica Wallis, her husband Ryan and their son Brody, daughter Tara Gunderman and her fiancé Shane McKinley, his sister Alisa Werner and her partner Jeanne Hagan, and sister Lynne Gunderman. Also sisters-in-law Kathleen Gunderman, Kathleen Hintz, Patricia Dunnigan and her husband Garry, brother-in-law William O'Shea and his wife Nancy, several beloved nieces and nephews, extended family, friends and his best "Buddy" pet dog Luca.

Erich adored spending time with his family and cherished his grandson Brody. He was so proud of his daughters’ accomplishments and would boast about them at any opportunity. Erich had friends from every walk of life and would be there for each and every one to lend an ear or give advice. He enjoyed playing hockey and basketball and was an avid Harley Davidson enthusiast. Erich was a big man with an even bigger heart. He will be sorely missed.

Arrangements were held privately. Expressions of sympathy may be made in his memory to MSPCA ANGELL- Northeast Animal Shelter at 347 Highland Ave. Salem MA.
