

Florence Mary (Seymoure) Harris, age 87, of Lynn. Born in Boston on March 15, 1924, she was the wife of the late Consul General of the Republic of Panama, Cesar E. Harris and the daughter of the late William C. and Florence M. (Earle) Seymoure.
Florence began working at Bell Telephone Company, Bowdoin Square Boston in 1968. She was the recipient of numerous company awards for dedicated service and retired in 1988. She was a member of the Telephone Pioneers. Upon retiring from the phone company, she attended North Shore Community College. She enjoyed traveling to Europe, North and Central America, the Caribbean and parts of the United States. She resided in Miami, FL in the 1940’s to the 1960’s. She lived in Lynn from 1975 until a lengthy illness of CHF took her life on August 21, 2011 with her daughter Eva, granddaughter Dina and son-in-law Earl at her bedside.
Florence was the mother of Eva-Maria McGilvery and her husband Earl McGilvery of Salem, NH, the grandmother of Lisa McGilvery of Beverly Hills, CA and of Dina Sawyer and her husband Dr. Mathew Sawyer of Concord, NH, and the great-grandmother of Christopher Pinkham Sawyer, Lucy and Isabella Sawyer. She was also the aunt of Barbara Potenza, Philip Drago and Susan Patri, and sister of the late Mildred P. Drago.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday at 10 AM in the Church of the Holy Name, 60 Monument Avenue, Swampscott. Burial in Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett. Visiting hours in the Cuffe-McGinn Funeral Home 157 Maple Street, Lynn on Wednesday 5-8 PM.
