Francis J. Hart

Mr. Francis J. Hart, age 93, of Fort Pierce, FL, died April 3, 2013 at Indian River Medical Center, Vero Beach, FL. He was the beloved husband of the late Rose (Keating) Hart, with whom he shared 69 years of marriage.

Frank was the son of the late Thomas and Charlotte (Carter) Hart. He was raised in Lynn and was a graduate of Lynn Classical High School Class of 1937. He and Rose moved to Peabody in 1955, and retired to Florida in 1982.

Frank enlisted in the US Navy during World War II and served aboard the USS Palm in both the Atlantic and Pacific Theatres. After an honorable discharge, he was employed as a union pipefitter. Frank was a former president of the Steamfitters Local Union 277 of Lynn and was a proud 65+ year member of the Pipefitters Local Union 537 of Boston.

Frank was an avid golfer and amateur artist. He and Rose were members of the “Couple’s Club”, a group began by nine young married couples from the Lynn area who met regularly for social events and travel. The group remained active well into the 1980’s. Frank was a 30 year communicant of Holy Cross Catholic Church in Vero Beach, FL.

Frank was devoted to his family and leaves his son, Thomas Hart and his wife Susan (Routses) of Effingham, NH; his daughter, Mary Lynne (Hart) Turner of Effingham, NH; his sister, Kathleen (Hart) Keating of Kingston, NH; his granddaughter, Amanda (Hart) Bramante and her husband Vic of Port Saint Lucie, FL, and many nieces and nephews. Frank was brother to the late Thomas Hart of Lynn and the late Dorothea (Hart) O’Neill of Peabody.

A Memorial Visitation will be held in the CUFFE-MCGINN FUNERAL HOME, 157 Maple St. Lynn on Saturday at 11:00AM followed by a Graveside Service in Saint Joseph’s Cemetery, 134 Broadway, Lynn at 12:00PM.
