Born in Revere, Fred was the son of the late Arthur W. and Muriel T. (Jones) Bennett. He was raised in Lynn and resided here his entire.
Prior to his retirement, Fred held many jobs including many in the custodial and food fields and he also served as Director for the Area Board of the Dept. of Developmental Services. An avid sports fan, Fred also had a great passion for Lynn politics and history. He was a well known fixture at the Honey Dew Donuts on the Lynnway.
He leaves his siblings, Charles Bennett of Wilmington, Catherine Black of Coos Bay, OR, Robert Bennett of Lynn and Judith Lynch of Nashua, NH. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Fred’s Funeral Service will be held in the CUFFE-MCGINN FUNERAL HOME, 157 Maple St. Lynn on Wednesday at 10:00AM. Relatives and friends invited. Interment Pine Grove Cemetery. Visiting Hours Tuesday 5-7PM. Gifts in his memory may be sent to the Greater Lynn Senior Services, 8 Silsbee St. Lynn, MA 01901.
