Geneva L. Traversy

Born in Lynn to the late Irving and Olivine (Fortin) Mayo, she was a graduate of St. Jean’s High School. Following her education, she worked for Eastern Bank in the operations department.

Geneva was an avid dollhouse collector and builder. She enjoyed playing Bingo at St. Michael’s, and loved knitting. She was actively involved with the St. Pius sodality and parish.

Geneva is survived by her loving sons, Dr. Richard F. Traversy, Jr. and his wife Jennifer of Melrose, and Kevin M. Traversy of Lynn; her adored grandchildren Haley, Amber, James and Julia; her brothers Arthur Mayo of NH and Paul Mayo of AZ; her sisters Rosemary Pothier of Florida, and Evelyn Loud of Fort Myers, Florida. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband and parents, Geneva is predeceased by her siblings Irving Mayo, Jr., George Mayo, Joseph Mayo, Theresa Ryan, and Irene Alboth.

Friends and family are invited to attend Geneva’s visitation on Sunday, July 9, 2023 from 1:00 to 5:00 PM at Cuffe-McGinn Funeral Home, 157 Maple Street, Lynn. Her Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, July 10, 2023 at 10:00 AM at St. Pius V Church, 215 Maple Street, Lynn. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery.
