Obituary of George H. Hemeon
George H. Hemeon of Ayer, Massachusetts, formerly of Lynn, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully on September 27, 2022 after a short illness. He was the son of George H. Hemeon Sr. and Myra “Pearl” (Hallett) Inkster. George was born and educated in Little Harbor, Nova Scotia, Canada, and later lived in Lockport, Nova Scotia where he enjoyed visiting often in the summers. George was lovingly devoted to his wife Florence Hemeon who passed away in 1999. After being honorably discharged from the U.S. Army, he worked for many years at H.K. Porter Tool factory, Nissens Bread Company, and as a custodian at Johnson Elementary School in Nahant. He was also an active member of the Teamsters Union, and in all aspects of his work and social circles, he was admired as a very thoughtful and generous person. To George, family was everything. He loved best of all to spend time with his children, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and his great-grandchildren playing games, cards or just walking along the beach. George also enjoyed taking short trips to the casinos, dancing on Friday nights, and supporting local charity events. He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Helen and Charles Harris Jr., his sister, Ruth Richard, grandchildren, Helen Jean and David Berry, Charles Harris III, Christopher and Michelle Harris, Kymberli Faughnan and Felipe Rodriguez; and his great grandchildren Kymberlee Donatelli, Sergio Donatelli, Eve-Marie Donatelli, Maximillian Berry, Tavernier Harris, Katherine Berry, and Fiona Rodriguez, as well as several nieces, nephews and wonderful friends who were all very dear to him. He was predeceased by his son Jack B. Faughnan, his brothers, Charles Hemeon, Gideon Hemeon and his sisters, Fern Parker, Arlene Hemeon, Joyce Miles, and Sheila Holland. Family and friends are welcome to gather on Tuesday October 4, 2022 at the Cuffe-McGinn Funeral Home, 157 Maple Street, Lynn MA from 11 am - 1 pm for a visitation, followed by a prayer service at 1 pm. Burial to follow at Pine Grove Cemetery. Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.cuffemcginn.com for the Hemeon family.
