

Mr. George Richard Maitland, Jr., age 60, of Danvers formerly of Lynn, died unexpectedly on Monday in Beverly Hospital after a brief illness. He was the beloved husband of Ronda (Bursey) Maitland, with whom he shared 41 years of marriage.
Born in Lynn, George was the son of the late George R., Sr. and Edna (Trudell) Maitland. He resided in Danvers for the past two years, previously residing in Marblehead and spent most of his life in Lynn.
George was a proud veteran of the Vietnam War, serving for over two years with the United States Marine Corps. In earlier years, he was involved with East Lynn Little League and East Lynn Pop Warner. He was a member of several area dart teams. He was an avid reader and also enjoyed sci-fi movies.
In addition to his wife, he leaves three children: Rebbecca Maitland of Lynn, Vanessa Maitland of Peabody and Gunther Maitland of Lynn. He was the Grandfather of Faith-Ann, Victoria and Lillyann Hobbs. He was the brother to Robert Maitland and his wife Jean, Mark Maitland and his wife Dawn and Steve Maitland all of Lynn, Mary Maitland of Rhode Island and the late Bernice Maitland. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews as well as his two granddogs, Jada and Porkchop.
Visiting Hours will be held in the CUFFE-MCGINN FUNERAL HOME, 157 Maple St. Lynn on Friday from 2-4PM. Services will conclude with the rendering of Military Honors by the United States Marine Corps at 4PM. Relatives and friends invited.
