

Henry Francis Fitzgerald Jr., age 76, passed away suddenly at his home on May 16, 2026. Born in Everett on April 16, 1950, he was the beloved son of the late Henry F. Fitzgerald Sr. and Hortense (Dragone) Fitzgerald.
Henry was raised in Everett and was a proud graduate of Everett High School, Class of 1968. He later attended the Massachusetts Institute of Technical Services and began his career as an electrician before going on to serve as a Correctional Officer. Dedicated to public service throughout his life, Henry also proudly served as a Councilman for the City of Everett, where he was known for his commitment to his community and willingness to help others.
A devoted husband and father, Henry shared a loving marriage with his wife, Patricia (Holey) Fitzgerald. Together, they built a life centered on family, raising their children in Everett and Lynn. Henry was known for his generous spirit and unwavering compassion. He dedicated many years volunteering as an advocate for The Salvation Army, reflecting the kindness and care that defined his life.
Henry found joy in life’s simple pleasures. He loved spending time at the beach, horse racing, watching all types of sports, and connecting with family and friends. He was especially fond of his cherished pets, his well-known “Fitzy jacket,” and keeping up with loved ones on Facebook. Above all, Henry treasured the time he spent with those he loved.
He is survived by his two sons, Jason Fitzgerald and his wife, Laura; John Fitzgerald; his daughter, Julie Fitzgerald, all of Lynn; and his cherished grandchildren; Franklin MacDaniel and Gabriella Fitzgerald. He was the dear brother of Kathleen Barrett and the late Gerard Fitzgerald. He was also the brother-in-law of Susan DeLuties and her husband Rudy, Paul Holey and his wife Karen, Peter Holey, Diane Holey, and the late Joey Holey, the late Mark Holey, and the late Jay Holey, all of Lynn. In addition, he leaves many beloved nieces and nephews.
Family and friends are respectfully invited to attend Henry’s visitation on Wednesday, May 20, 2026, in the Cuffe-McGinn Funeral Home, 157 Maple Street, Lynn, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., followed by a service at 7:00 p.m.
