

James (Jim) Patrick Caulfield, 90, husband of the late Marie-Minto (Sally) Sutton Caulfield of North Redington Beach, FL, passed away peacefully on March 9, 2018 at The Herrick House in Beverly, Massachusetts. Born February 10, 1928, in Salem, Massachusetts, he was the son of the late James M. and Catherine Caulfield originally from Ireland.
Jim attended Salem High School and enlisted in the US Navy upon graduation and served our country for seven years between the Pacific and Reserves. Upon graduation from Boston University, he studied law while working as a claims investigator for Liberty Mutual. He opened an automobile dealership, European Motors of Beverly which he operated for 38 years. With his love of American history and craftsmanship, he renovated and restored the 1802 Dr. Joshua Fisher house in downtown Beverly. He retired to Florida with his wife, Marie-Minto (Sally) Sutton Caulfield and returned to Beverly after her death. His friends & family will fondly remember him for his love of aviation, reading, storytelling, and sense of humor. He is survived by his daughters: Mary E. Caulfield of Cambridge, Massachusetts; Ann (Barry) Mehrman of West Chicago, Illinois; two grandsons David & Brian. He is also survived by his sister Mary (Caulfield) Crane of St. Charles, Illinois, and his niece and nephew.
The family is planning a funeral and remembrance in Florida accordance with James and Marie's wishes.
