Born in Lynn, he was the son of the late Alphonse Putis and Virginia (Currier) Putis-Clark. He was raised in Lynn and was a graduate of Lynn English High School Class of 1978. He later attended Westfield State College.
James was employed as a Letter Carrier for the United States Postal Service for over 25 years, based out of the South Boston Postal Annex. He was a longtime friend of Bill W. He was known as a generous and charitable man who always thought of others. James was also known for his quick wit.
He leaves his brother, David Putis of Lynn and several cousins including Marilyn Hazel of Danvers and Jim Beaudet of Haverhill.
Memorial Visitation will be held in the CUFFE-MCGINN FUNERAL HOME, 157 Maple St. Lynn on Wednesday from 11:00AM-1:00PM followed by a Memorial Service at 1:00PM. Relatives and friends invited. Interment Saint Jean’s Cemetery. Gifts in his memory may be sent to the American Kidney Fund, 30 East 33rd St. New York, NY 10016.
