

Mr. James C. Swenson, 67 of Lynn died Tuesday in North Shore Medical Center Union Hospital after a brief illness. He was the beloved husband of Maureen A. (Berrigan) Swenson with whom he spent 29 years of marriage.
Jim was born and raised in Salem, son of the late Clyde and Emelda (Koen) Swenson. He was a resident of Lynn for the past 28 years and previously resided in Salem and was a graduate of Salem High School and then went onto Salem State College where he received his Bachelor degree in General studies.
He was a United States Navy veteran serving 20 years
Upon retiring from the Unites States Navy, Jim worked in the Food Service Department at the Chelsea Soldiers Home for several years until his retirement in 2000.
He was a member of the American Legion and the Fleet Reserve Organization.
In addition to his wife he is survived by 1 brother Richard Swenson of Salem, his sister and brother in laws Kathy and Gary Fuller of Lynn and Paul Berrigan of Lynn, a dear friend Nancy Freeman of Salem. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to visiting hours in the Cuffe-McGinn Funeral Home, 157 Maple St. Lynn Friday from 4-8 PM. Funeral Services and interment will be private.
