Jean Marie Roseman, 65, of Saugus and formerly of Lynn and Boston, passed away on Tuesday, September 7, 2021 at Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers. Jean was the devoted mother of Sara Roseman and Joy Roseman; the cherished Meremere of Myra Rose Hartford, Alvin Carter, IV, Analiese Imoni Carter, and Gianeysa Marie Jemery; and the dear daughter of the late Sarah Katherine Harrison Roseman and Franklin Marshall Roseman.

Jean grew up in Boston, graduated from Sharon High School in 1973 and later graduated from Boston University in 1979 with a Bachelor of Arts degree. She raised her family in Boston and Lynn. She worked as a social worker for the City of Boston and later became Boston Public School Substitute School Teacher. Her greatest job as she grew older was being a “stay at home grandmother.” She loved to read, write and draw. She was a larger than life Star Trek Fan. She published her first fan fiction novel in 2014. Her favorite place to spend time was in Boston. She loved going downtown and would stop off at her favorite book store to pick up a magazine or new novel.

Jean cherished her time spent with family and loved being a mother, and most of all, loved being a grandmother. Her happiest moments were spent hanging out with her grandchildren Myra, Alvin, Analiese, and Gianeysa. They were her world. She loved reading to them and educating them on history, science, and art. She had an amazing imagination. Some of her most cherished times were spent enjoying late night movies and reading with her best friend and grandson, Alvin Carter, IV. She was known for her fun, sassy personality. Her smile and laugh was infectious. She had the best sense of humor. She was our best friend. She will be deeply, and eternally missed by her children and grandchildren. Funeral services are private and are under the care of Cuffe-McGinn Funeral Home, Lynn. Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.cuffemcginn.com for the Roseman family.

Hello to the Roseman family and my condolences for your loss. I found Jean’s name in a collection of Star Trek books I just purchased. I know how hard it is to give away items from a loved one and I just wanted you all to know that these books are in a good Star-Trek loving home. I will keep Jean in my thoughts as I read through the adventures that I get to experience from her collection.

Jean was a beloved classmate at Sharon High School class of ‘73. I’m so sad to hear of her passing, but loved reading the story of her life, her accomplishments, and her rich family life. We were lucky to have her as a classmate.

I never met Jeanne face to face, a fact that I really regret. We were Facebook friends and both loved Star Trek. That was enough. I enjoyed her work - both her writing and her art - and we spent many hours online talking back and forth about Trek, our families, and our lives. She was proud of her children and grandchildren and really wanted the best in life for them, and although she had difficult health issues she worked hard to get herself through her medical problems. Although I am selfish enough to wish she was still here, I am glad that she now has a release from her physical ills at last. Thanks for letting me express my affection and grief for her passing.

So sorry for your loss of your Mother/Grandmother. I remember when she and my sister Marie were playmates. Your Mom was 4 and my sister was 5. Which made her my 3rd sister. May God bless all of you.

So sorry for the loss of your Mother/Grandmother. We grew up together from age 6. We were like the 3 musketeers - me, Marcia and Jean. I remember playing hopscotch and playing in her backyard and having tea parties.

May your great memories bring you peace and comfort. She will always be a special person in my heart.

Well, my dear friend, I can't believe your gone.....and a big part of my own history has forever been taken away.....with 58 years of friendship under our belts, I can't sum it all up in a page... just know this ... "I love you " I'll miss you" .. and I pray that we will meet again.... to Sara, Joy, and the rest of her legacy I pray for you to have comfort, and peace...she had a huge heart , loved all creatures big and small. Your mom endured physical pain with a "warriors" spirit.....I'll never forget you my friend ....let the angels guide you on their wings, to the waiting arms of God...... your parents are waiting for their "baby's" return.............. <3 <3 <3
