It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that we share the passing of our beloved colleague, friend, and family member, Jeffrey “Jeff” Becker, who left this world peacefully on Sunday, August 3rd, after a courageous and grace-filled battle with cancer. Jeff’s life was a testament to love, loyalty, and kindness, and he will be forever remembered as a devoted father and grandfather, a compassionate leader, and a steadfast friend to so many.
Born in Lawrence, Jeff was the cherished son of the late James and Beatrice “Bea” (Pelczar) Becker. He grew up surrounded by the values of family, hard work, and generosity—principles he carried with him throughout his life. A proud graduate of Bellingham Memorial Jr.–Sr. High School, Class of 1984, Jeff went on to earn his degree from Unity College in Unity, Maine, in 1987, where he formed lifelong friendships and a deep appreciation for the outdoors.
Professionally, Jeff began his career in telecommunications, working for various interconnect telephone companies before finding his professional home at Eastern Bank in 2001. Over his remarkable 24-year career there, Jeff’s dedication to people, steady leadership, and genuine care for others left an indelible mark. He was deeply respected by his colleagues and recognized with numerous honors, including membership in the Eastern Bank President’s Club.
Jeff’s greatest joy was his family. He is lovingly survived by his sons, Joshua H. Becker and his fiancée, Rhiannon Gauthier, and Jarrid H. Becker and his wife, Sara Becker, along with their children Brayden, Avalee, and Rowan. He also leaves behind his dearest friend of over 50 years, Robert Primavera, and Robert’s daughter, Gemma, whom Jeff proudly embraced as his goddaughter. His circle of love extended far and wide, touching countless other beloved family members and friends who will carry his memory in their hearts.
More than his accomplishments, it was the way Jeff made others feel—valued, heard, and appreciated—that defined him. His warmth, generosity, and quick wit could light up a room, and his laughter was the kind that stayed with you long after you heard it. Though we mourn his absence, we find comfort in knowing that his spirit will live on in the countless lives he touched, and his memory will remain a source of love, inspiration, and strength for all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Services will be held at St. Anthony’s on Friday, August 15, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. 250 Revere St. Revere, Ma.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute at danafarber.jimmyfund.org.
