She was born May 9, 1929, in Lynn, the daughter of the late Helen (McDormand) Borenstein and the late Albert King.
Joyce was preceded in death by the love of her life, her husband of 40 years, George Edward Brennan Sr., in 1987.
Joyce graduated from Lynn English High School in 1947 and married George later that year. She was a devoted, beloved, fun-loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and “auntie” who always gave of her time and heart. She had a passion for music and line dancing and loved to travel with her favorite trips being to the Vatican, Hawaii and to the Caribbean. She was a member of St. Pius V church in Lynn for over 65 years.
Joyce loved attending family social events and having family stop by to visit her at her home. Her grandchildren all knew that “Grammy” Joyce would be delighted to see them and would be highly interested in all their activities. Many other family members and friends have fond memories of stopping in to see her and spending hours visiting poolside or in the kitchen.
Joyce is survived by her three sons: George E. Brennan Jr. (Susan) of Lynn; Alan H. Brennan (Sue) of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and Paul (Mary) Brennan of Lynn; five grandchildren: Alan Brennan Jr. (Kate) and Matthew Brennan (Lauren) both of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; and Robert Palmer (Amanda), Jonathan Brennan (Ashleigh) and Stacia Brennan of Lynn; six great grandchildren (Shea, Kaylee, Finn, Max, Jack and Isla). A brother, Alan King of Pittsfield, and a sister Frances Tambini of Peabody predeceased her. She also leaves behind many nieces and nephews, along with other family, neighbors and friends who will sadly miss her.
