Karole E. Ohl

Karole E. (Porter) Ohl, age 79, a lifelong resident of Lynn, passed away on Friday, November 21, 2025. She was born on July 6, 1946 to the late Sherman and Ruth (Nordstrom) Porter. Karole was a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend to many.

Karole attended Lynn schools, graduating from Lynn English High School, Class of 1964. She was a caring person who was dedicated to helping others. Karole spent most of her career in Social Services working as a Social Worker for several organizations including Lynn Economic Opportunity, Head Start and Bridgewell. She was especially proud of her work with Head Start at its inception in the late 1960’s.

She had a wonderful sense of humor and a knack for finding humor in every situation. She loved all types of music and her home was always filled with the sound of oldies, soundtracks, and the latest hits. She was an avid reader and enjoyed a good thriller/mystery, she loved going to concerts, the theatre and museums. Karole was always up for a new adventure and loved to travel. She especially enjoyed traveling around New England and spent every summer enjoying the sun at the beach or a local pond. Her greatest joy though, was spending time with her family, particularly her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and her “fur babies”. She dedicated her life to her family and created a home filled with love and laughter.

She is survived by her daughters, Cheryle (Ohl) Leonard and her husband Frank of Peabody, and Jennifer Ohl-Jackson of Lynn. She also leaves her grandchildren, Chelsie Jackson, Jack Leonard, Jajuan Jackson, Destini Jackson, Michael Leonard; her great-granddaughter Aubrie; her sister Linda Winton and her nieces Amy and Jennifer.

Karole’s visitation will be held on Monday, December 1, 2025 from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at the Cuffe-McGinn Funeral Home, 157 Maple Street, Lynn. Her funeral service will follow at 7:00 PM. Interment will be private.
