Mr. LeRoy L. “Lee” Poole, age 64, of Lynn, died peacefully in his home Saturday afternoon surrounded by his loving family following a lengthy illness. He was the beloved husband of Pam A. (Warden) Poole, a History Teacher at Saint Mary’s High School, with whom he shared 41 years of marriage.
Born in Saginaw, Michigan, Lee was the son of the late Leland and Bernice (Bennett) Poole. Although he was unable to finish school, one of Lee’s proudest accomplishments as a parent was being able to earn his G.E.D in 1993. He resided in Lynn for most of his life, previously residing in Texas for 14 years.
Lee enlisted in the United States Army in 1966 and served his country during the Vietnam War. He later worked as a diesel mechanic for Garelick Farms in Lynn, a position he held for over nineteen years. He could repair almost anything, and he also enjoyed fishing, metal-detecting and tinkering as well as having a great love for country western and classical music.
In addition to his wife, he leaves his children, Aaron L. Poole of Lynn and Nancy-Lee Carreiro and her husband Dana of Springfield. He was the brother of Larry Poole and his wife Bobbie of Alabama, Ben Poole of Georgia, Cindy Poole of Michigan and Joreen Appell and her husband Norman of Idaho. He was the loving grandfather of Justin Carreiro and Gail Poole and is also survived by several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Lenny and Bob Poole and Marlene Teeple.
Lee’s Funeral Mass will be celebrated in Saint Mary’s Church, Lynn on Wednesday at 2:30PM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited and are asked to go directly to church. Interment will be private. Visiting Hours in the CUFFE-MCGINN FUNERAL HOME, 157 Maple St. Lynn on Tuesday from 2-4 & 6-8PM.
