Margaret “Margie” Mary (Callahan) Doucette, age 86, of Lynn, passed away surrounded by her loving family on January 5, 2020. She was born on June 5, 1933 to her beloved mother the late Mary Callahan in Somerville.
During the Korean War Margaret served proudly as a Women's Army Core Nurse in Panama. After the war, she would go on to work for Norelco Phillips Lighting for over 30 years while also working at Shaw’s Supermarket in Peabody in the seafood department, where she would get her loving nickname the Troll that her coworkers lovingly gave to her.
Margaret was a free spirit and was a huge Boston sports fan; she would watch every Patriots and Red Sox game. Margaret always loved animals, having at least one or two at a time regardless of species, she was even known for taking care and feeding the stray animals. Later in life she found a love for bingo, crosswords, and using a lucky dime for her scratch tickets, that she would scratch almost every night, even falling asleep while scratching a couple of times, dime still in hand. Most of all she loved to spend time with her family. Spending as much quality time with them as she could.
All who had the pleasure of knowing her will miss her dearly.
She was the beloved mother of Ann Doucette of Kingston, New Hampshire, Dana Doucette and his wife Denise of Peabody, and Michael Doucette and his wife Lisa of Lynn the cherished grandmother of Scott Doucette, Heather Dowling, Leslie Dowling, Dana Doucette Jr, Julia Doucette, and Ashley Dossey. Margaret was also the loving and doting great grandmother of five.
Margaret’s visiting hours will be held in the Cuffe-McGinn Funeral Home, 157 Maple Street, Lynn, from 4:00pm to 8:00pm on January 10, 2020, services and burial will be private.
