Born in Lynn, she was the daughter of the late Henry Veilleux and Malvina (LeClerc) Veilleux. Marie also spent many years with General Electric of West Lynn as an assembler.
Marie lived all of her years in many amazing ways. From her work with GE, supporting her brothers who fought in World War II, surviving the Great Depression, having real life Lucy and Ethel candy experiences while working for Connelly’s Candies, to doing what she was born to do which was being a home health aide taking care of strangers, her neighbors, friends, and family. She was always game and eager to be involved. One only need to say “Hey Vi would you…”
She loved being asked to go and do something for fun. If anyone said, “would you like to go for a cup of coffee and a ‘muffie’?” (as she liked to call it), she’d drop what she was doing and say, “I’ll be ready” and she always was.
Marie was a champion to everyone. If you needed her, she was there no matter who you were. If you were someone in need, she was your person. If you needed prayers, a kind word, someone to check in on how you were doing, she was that person. She lived her life by the selfless acts of caring, kindness and love that she willingly gave to others.
In addition to her daughter Kimberly and her husband Joe Ravida, she leaves behind many nieces and nephews.
Along with her husband and parents, Marie was predeceased by her sister Germaine H. Censabella, brothers Henry G., Gerard J., Robert J., Roland J., Leo A., Arthur G., and sister Genevieve Veilleux.
A funeral for Marie will be held on Tuesday November 22, at 9AM from the Cuffe-McGinn Funeral Home, 157 Maple Street, Lynn, followed by a funeral Mass in St. Ann’s Church 140 Lynn St., Peabody at 10AM.
