Mary Thomas

THOMAS, Mary W. – Mary W. Thomas passed away peacefully at home on October 8, 2022 at the age of 100. Born in Maryland, Liberia, she was the daughter of the late Thomas B. Collins and Toh Himiede (Landford) Collins.

She was the wife of the late Eyo Thomas, with whom she shared many wonderful years of marriage. Together they had six children; the late Inyang Thomas, Edem Thomas, Nerisa Thomas-Gawolo, Atim Thomas, Daniel Bedell, and Comfort Thomas.

Mary was the sister to; Catherine Woods, Annie Newton, Charlotte Bedell, Victoria Wallace, Thomas B. Collins, the late Dr. Daniel Collins, the late Rev. Amos B. Collins, the late Grace Awode, and the late Rev. Emmanuel Collins.

Mary was the grandmother to; Mary, Femi, Jim, Bella, Philip Seton, John Thompson, and Thomas Mitchell. She also had several great grandchildren and a great-great granddaughter.

She leaves behind many nieces and nephews, especially M. Ponnie Collins.

Friends and family are invited to attend Mary’s visiting hours on Friday, October 28, from 4pm – 8pm, in the Cuffe-McGinn Funeral Home 157 Maple Street, Lynn. A funeral service will be held on Saturday October 29 at 9:30am, in St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church, 74 S Common St. Lynn, followed by a Christian burial in Pine Grove Cemetery, Lynn.
