

Mr. Max D. Williams, 76, of Peabody, died Wednesday, January 23, 2013 at Lahey Clinic in Burlington. He was the beloved husband of the late Bette A. (Snook) Williams with whom he shared 48 years of marriage.
Born in Paris, Illinois, Max was the son of the late Scranton and Myrtle (Ward) Williams. He honorably served his country in the US Air Force from June 1, 1954 to July 1, 1974 obtaining the rank of Tech. Sergeant. Following his honorable discharge, Max was employed with General Electric for nearly 20 years as a Senior Electronics Engineer. He was a member of West Congregational Church in Peabody. Above all, Max’s children and grandchildren were the most important aspect of his life.
He is survived by his sons, Wayne S. Williams of Middleton, David B. Williams of Winchester and Robert G. Williams of Peabody. Also survived by 10 grandchildren.
Max’s Funeral Service will be held in the West Congregational Church, 27 Johnson Street, Peabody on Monday at 10AM. Interment to follow in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody. Relatives and friends invited. Visiting Hours in the Cuffe-McGinn Funeral Home, 157 Maple Street, Lynn on Sunday from 2-5PM.
