

Born in Lynn, Mike was the beloved son of James M. Carroll of Lynn and the late Joan E. (Trainor) Carroll. He attended St. Coletta’s Day School in Braintree and was a lifelong resident of Lynn.
For 30 years and up until 2 weeks ago, Mike worked at Boston Street Bridgewell in the Work Services/Day habilitation Program. He was an accomplished medalist in swimming for the Special Olympics for over 40 years and earned nearly 200 medals. He was also a part of the bowling league with the Northeast Arc.
An avid sports enthusiast, Mike also enjoyed spending time with his family, traveling, and camping at the Mi-Te-Jo Campgrounds with his friends. Mike had friends no matter where he went and anyone that knew him couldn’t help but like him.
In addition to his devoted father, Mike leaves his siblings: Joanna Carroll of Newton, James M. Carroll, Jr. of Lynn, Timothy Carroll of Lynn, Elisabeth Carroll of Lynn, Christopher Carroll of Lynn, and Kathleen Kraemer and her husband James of Salem. He was the brother-in-law of Christine Carroll of Peabody. He is also survived by his nieces and nephews, Matthew, Julie and Meaghan Carroll of Peabody, Alex and Rebecca Carroll of Lynn, Daniel, Thomas and William Kraemer of Salem and Michaela Carroll of Lynn. He also leaves behind many other beloved relatives and countless friends. He is now reunited in heaven with his loving mother along with his devoted aunts, Kathleen and Ros Trainor and uncle, Richard Carroll.
Mike’s Funeral will be held from the CUFFE-MCGINN FUNERAL HOME, 157 Maple St. Lynn on Thursday at 10:00AM followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Pius V Church at 11:00AM. Relatives and friends invited. Interment at St. Joseph’s Cemetery. Visiting Hours Wednesday 3-8PM. In lieu of flowers, donations in Mike’s memory may be made to Special Olympics Massachusetts; proceeds to the New England Aquatics Program, 512 Forest St. Marlborough, MA 01752.
