OBITUARY

Patricia Dipietro

17 April, 1961 – 16 January, 2025
IN THE CARE OF

Cuffe-McGinn Funeral Home

With deep sorrow, we announce the passing of Patricia “Trisha” Lyn DiPietro (Guptill) on January 16th. Born on April 17, 1961, in Lynn, Massachusetts, Trisha was a proud graduate of Endicott College and dedicated her life to creating a legacy of love, kindness, and joy for her family and friends.

Trisha was a devoted wife to her beloved husband, Ed DiPietro, and a loving mother to her two sons, Mason DiPietro (and his wife, Sabrina Moura) and Joseph DiPietro. Her greatest pride and joy was her cherished grandson, Jaxson, and Emily Moura, whom she warmly embraced as part of the family. She is also survived by her sisters, Alice Driscoll and Kendra DeYoung (and her husband, Gary), her brother-in-law Paul Hossfeld (and his wife, Maureen), and several nieces and nephews.

Trisha was predeceased by her parents, Robert and Edith Guptill; her sister, Cathleen Hossfeld; her brother, Paul Guptill; and her beloved brother-in-law, Barry Driscoll, and sister-in-law, Susan Guptill.

Trisha was known for her incredibly strong work ethic and was always willing to give her best in everything she did. Professionally, she worked at Stop & Shop, and her career also included serving as a matron for the Marblehead Police Department, a crossing guard for the Swampscott Police Department, and roles at Home Depot.

One of her favorite pastimes was playing board games with Jaxson, even though, as she often joked, she never won a game. She loved the beach and had a passion for traveling. She enjoyed the annual trips to Ogunquit with family and friends, visiting Alice and family in Arizona, bike rides with her sister Kendra and cherished lunch dates with her dear friend Sue. Trisha’s love for birthdays and holidays brought her joy, but above all, she treasured quiet moments spent with her family—dinner dates with Ed and time spent with her boys, especially Jaxson. Mondays were well known to be Trisha’s sacred day to rest with her cats and watch her favorite show, Law & Order.

And of course, those who knew her best will remember her playful nature. She once posted on Facebook, "I danced as if nobody was watching, now I regret it!!!" Anyone who knew Trisha would know how true this was, as her vibrant spirit and sense of fun were a defining part of who she was.

Trisha faced personal challenges in her life, despite these challenges, she showed remarkable strength, determination, and resilience, and was a loving mother, wife, grandmother, and friend. Trisha’s memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew her, and she will be dearly missed by her family and friends.

A celebration of life will be planned for June 7th, details to follow. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, PO Box 849168, Boston, MA 02284-9168, by phone with 1-800-525-4669 or online at dana-farber.org/give."
