Richard Hurd, II

Mr. Richard Hurd II, age 51 years, of Rochester, NH, formerly of Saugus, died Friday Nov. 19, at the Elliot Hospital in Manchester, after a courageous battle from injuries sustained when he was hit by a pick-up truck while riding his bicycle. He was the husband of Susan (Osborne) Hurd with whom he shared 26 years of marriage. Born in Lynn he was the son of Frances (Faneuf) Hurd of Saugus and the late Norman B. Hurd. He attended Saugus schools and graduated from Saugus High School, and Northeast Vocational, Class of 1978. Dick was a volunteer at the First United Methodist Church in Rochester, and Stepping Stones in Portsmouth, NH. In addition to his wife and mother he is survived by two sons Richard, Jr. and Thomas Hurd both of Middleton, NH, one daughter Kaitlyn Hurd of Middleton, NH, one brother Lawrence Hurd of Saugus, two sisters, Nancy Parra of Lynn, Debbie Hurd of Wasilla, AL, and many nieces and nephews. He was also brother of the late Thomas Hurd. Service Details: A memorial service will be held at the Cliftondale Congregational Church, 50 Essex St. Saugus, on Thursday at 6:30 PM to which relatives and friends are invited to attend.
