Roger A. Sharpe

Roger Alden Sharpe Sr., age 82, of Lynn, passed away on Monday, September 9, 2024 surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Marie (MacGillivary) Sharpe with whom he shared 57 years of marriage.

Born in 1941, he was the son of the late Frederick and Dorothy (Rhines) Sharpe. Roger was a lifelong resident of Lynn and worked as a Machinist for General Electric until his retirement.

He was the devoted father of Roger Sharpe Jr. and his wife Denise of Kremmling Colorado and Rebecca Sharpe of Lynn, the cherished grandfather of Sarah Sharpe and Maddie Sharpe, the adored great grandfather of Rowan Sharpe, and leaves behind several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Roger is predeceased by his brothers, Frederick, Robert, and Kenneth Sharpe.

Roger was a collector of music, books, and movies. He enjoyed fishing, the beauty of nature, all animals great and small, the Boston sports teams, yet he had a special place in his heart for the New England Patriots, but most of all, he cherished time spent with his family. He served as a member of Austin Square Baptist Church for more than 25 years.

Relatives and friends are invited to Roger’s Visitation on Saturday, September 14, 2024 from 9:30 am – 11:00 am in the Cuffe-McGinn Funeral Home, 157 Maple Street, Lynn. His Funeral Service will follow at 11:30 am in Austin Square Baptist Church, 10 Keslar Avenue, Lynn. Burial to be held at a later date.
