It is with great sadness that Sarah “Sas” G. Starion, age 21, passed away unexpectedly in Burlington, VT, on Tuesday, May 14, 2020. She was the beloved daughter of Kevin and Jane (Anderson) Starion, and sister to Emily and her boyfriend Mauro Cognati of Danvers.
Sarah had a personality like no other. She had an innate ability to light up any room she was in with just her presence. She earned her nickname “Sas” because that’s just who she was, full of humor and sassiness.
Born in Salem, MA on November 6, 1998, she was a cherished daughter of Kevin and Jane (Anderson) Starion. Sarah was a graduate of Salem High School, where she was her class president and captain of the volleyball team in 2016. Presently, she was attending the University of Vermont, where she would have been a senior this upcoming fall.
Besides her loving family, Sarah is survived by her grandmothers, Shirley Ann Starion of Lynn, and Claire M. Anderson of Salem; her aunts and uncles, Beth LaMacchia and her husband Ray of Lynn, John Anderson and his wife Jodi of Maine, Kevin Anderson and his wife Kelly of Peabody, Ricky Anderson and his wife Cheri of New Hampshire, Jeff Starion of Peabody, Sean Starion of Lynn, and Kathy Smales of Danvers; her dear dog Luna, as well as many close cousins, friends, and family. Sarah was predeceased by her grandfathers, Gerald Starion and John Anderson.
