Stephen R. Hewson

Mr. Stephen R. “Steve” Hewson, age 56, of Lynn, died suddenly at Union Hospital on Saturday after a brief illness. He was the beloved husband of Joyce (Fennah) Hewson, with whom he shared 35 ½ years of marriage.

Born in Chester, England, Steve was the son of the late Reginald and Florence Hewson. He was a resident of Lynn for the past 32 years.

Steve was employed by the Old Neighborhood Foods in West Lynn for over 32 years. He enjoyed all Boston sports, darts, was a huge soccer fan and in earlier years, enjoyed camping and fishing. He was a friend of Bill W.

In addition to his wife, he leaves his children, Matthew Hewson and his wife Melissa of Fremont, NH, Gary Hewson and his companion Danielle Dodge of Lynn and Jocelyn Hewson of Lynn. He was the brother to Janet Flynn and her husband Steve of Chester, England. He was the Grandfather to Kenlee and Kailyn Hewson and Julia Cutter. Brother-In-Law to Lynn Carleton and her husband Paul of Epping, NH, John Fennah and his companion Vicki Main of Revere, Valerie LePage and her husband Bruce of Groveland, Mary Ann Fennah and her partner Dan Musheti of Watertown, Jacqueline Ahearn of Worcester and the late Jay Fennah and his wife Lisa of South Carolina. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Steve’s Funeral will be held from the CUFFE-MCGINN FUNERAL HOME, 157 Maple St. Lynn on Friday at 9:30AM followed by a Funeral Mass in the Sacred Heart Church at 10:30AM. Relatives and friends invited. Burial will be private. Visiting Hours Thursday 3-7PM.
